The Mutt Strutt benefits the San Marcos Animal Shelter through the Guardian Angel Program, created in July 2007. The Program asks for $50 donations which go towards the adoption fee of a pet the donor can help choose. The donor's name is put on a sign on the run showing which animal is being sponsored. The Program focuses on older, less attractive animals that might otherwise be overlooked.
